Milwaukee Bucks’ Jabari Parker was on track to contend for the Rookie of the Year award this season. With 12.3 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, and a 49% field goal average, he was putting up promising numbers.
Unfortunately, on December 15, 2014, Jabari tore his ACL playing against the Phoenix Suns.
That’s why this video from Gatorade is less of a commercial, and more of a statement.
He will come back.
He will be stronger.
Jabari is here to let you know that his story, is just beginning.
We worked with TBWA Chiat Day on this spot to recreate everything from Jabari’s uniforms to his practice gear from Simeon High School and Duke. Our art department went to work. Using a photo as reference, they drew up the Duke practice jersey art. More impressive yet, all of the Simeon artwork and the Duke game uniforms were drawn completely from scratch. Our wardrobe department double checked every number, logo, and stitch was in place.
We sourced Jordans for the spot. We worked with Nike to source the Simeon and Duke uniforms. We also utilized our relationship with the NBA and Adidas to supply the Milwaukee Bucks jerseys and practice gear for this spot.
We’re excited to see what Jabari has in store for us this fall. More importantly, we were happy to have been a part of the team, ensuring that every bit of wardrobe was just as high quality as this commercial was.
