The 2016 NBA Finals Champions, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the New York Knicks will kick off the 2016-2017 NBA season tonight.
Most people remember the NBA Championship series this past year because it did not play out like many would have thought. The Warriors were favored to win and at the end of game 4, they were leading the series 3-1. When it looked like the series was over, Lebron James brought his team back and the Cleveland Cavaliers took the 2016 title from the Golden State Warriors in game 7.
Nike just released “Come Out of Nowhere” today featuring Lebron James. Spoiler: the ad references his iconic block in game 7. Watch it below.
Not only is this commercial about the Cavaliers championship win, but it also alludes to Lebron James’s upbringing. He grew up on welfare, without a father, and without a permanent home. He was forced to move from house to house when he was a child and many would agree that he overcame the odds. This spot, “Come Out of Nowhere”, is about not letting obstacles stand in your way of becoming great.
Sports Studio worked with wardrobe stylist Camille Garmendia, Wieden+Kennedy, and Anonymous Content on this Nike Basketball commercial. We provided the basketball uniforms, t-shirts, hoodies, warm up jackets, warm up pants, cheerleading uniforms, basketball referee uniforms, and Cleveland Cavaliers jerseys. We also customized majority of the gear by adding team names and players’ numbers.
