Harper at the Bat

The outlook wasn’t brilliant for the Washington Nationals that day;
The score stood two to two, with but one inning more to play,
And then when Zimmerman died at first, and Hairston did the same,
A sickly silence fell upon the patrons of the game.

Sound similar? This stanza is based on “Casey at the Bat,” the famous baseball poem where Mighty Casey strikes out. But this isn’t Mudville, and Bryce Harper isn’t Mighty Casey.

Bryce steps onto the plate, fueled with Gatorade. The cheers become nothing more than background noise, overpowered by Guns N Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle.” The camera cuts to a pitcher decked out in a Miami Marlins uniform and Phiten necklace, (provided by Sports Studio of course).

Their eyes lock in fierce competition.

The pitcher zips the ball to the plate; Harper crushes it into the sky. As the ball unravels and melts away, we find a combination of Bryce’s roaring face, mixed with a splash of Gatorade.

We only catch a glimpse of the word “fierce” in the first second and last 4 seconds of the commercial. Yet, even if those words were omitted, “fierce” would still be the only way to describe this video.

But, we can take you to a level beyond fierce. Looking for that spark for your next production? We’ve got you covered for wardrobe and casting.
