Magic/ Bird on Broadway in Sports Studio Wardrobe

If you have been watching the NBA over the last month, you know two things: Magic/Bird, the Broadway play, is coming out this month, and two, LeBron James is the best player in the NBA.

But in case you have been sleeping on the former, here’s the trailer for the play, featuring Marv Albert or someone who sounds exactly like Marv Albert.

We were honored when we were contacted by the NBA and the Magic/Bird costume department to re-create the period basketball wardrobe for two of the best players in the history of the sport. And not only that, our wardrobe is going to be on one of the biggest stages in the world (Broadway) under the brightest lights (New York). So to say we are thrilled is an understatement.

In researching this project, we worked with the extremely helpful Kara Harmon, assistant costumer for Magic/Bird, the NBA, Michigan State and Indiana State, and lastly we must not forget Google.

In about a month we were able to manufacture– from scratch mind you– jerseys, warmups and socks for the these icons and their teams.

If you want to see our work live and in person, tickets are available (HERE)

We will have more images to come as we inch closer to the opening, including some shots of the iconic Dream Team jackets for 1992. For now, enjoy these–
