Joe Montana is one of the famous quarterbacks of all time to ever play in the NFL. James Corden is an English actor and comedian that currently hosts The Late Late Show. So what happens when you put the two of them on camera together?
For a special segment in The Late Late Show, Corden decides to reenact “The Catch” — one of the most iconic moments in football history. When Joe Montana threw the winning touchdown pass to Dwight Clark, it ended an era of domination for the Dallas Cowboys and started a dynasty of greatness for the 49ers.
In the above clip, James Corden attempts to recreate this greatness by subbing in for Dwight Clark as Joe’s wide receiver. There is a slight catch though (no pun intended).
They’re taking on a team of 14-and-under Cowboys.
We worked with The Late Late Show to provide the custom San Francisco 49ers football jersey for Joe Montana, full 49ers football uniform rental for James Corden, as well as the youth Dallas Cowboy football uniforms and referee outfits. As the NFL’s entertainment partner, we’re Hollywood’s football headquarters. We ensure that your football scene looks authentic, from wardrobe to casting to choreography.
